We love going on road trips and a super fun getaway is to Mystic, Connecticut. It's about 45 minutes from our home in Rhode Island. Let me share some of our favorite thing to do in Mystic!
TO STAY: Our favorite place is The Whaler's Inn, it's in the heart of downtown and you can walk everywhere! The location is wonderful! Let me tell you a little bit about the hotel. It has 5 different buildings, each of them has a distinct history and personality, but all of them reflects back to New England coastal character.
It has a lot of charm and history with modern amenities and incredible service. We stayed at the recently renovated Ivory Ella Junior Suite.
You walk in and you have a nice queen bed, TV, a desk and chair, a reading area with a comfortable arm chair. The showstopper of this room is the beautiful blue carpet that draws your eyes to it. In contrast you will find a bold red armoire with open shelves for maximum storage.
Sophia grabbed the heart pillow from the bunkbeds and said I want to decorate your bed too! haha
Such a beautiful hotel and this renovated room was SO PRETTY!
Perfect for families with young children!
Every detail is stunning! One thing we really care about when we go to hotel is cleanliness and with The Whaler's Inn I don't have to worry. Linens, towels and cleanliness is 10/10.
Adjacent to the room you will find a junior bunkbed, with bright bedding and linen with patterns and pillows by Ivory Ella, the girls loved it! Off to the side is the bathroom with a big soaking tub, subway tiles.The girls were in heaven!! I can't even describe their excitement!
The Dresser was perfect to keep their clothes and Bella's diapers, etc.
Here are a few more details of the room;
Thank you The Whaler's Inn and Ivory Ella for all the welcoming gifts!!
We really appreciated it!!!
Alright, next post will be about the restaurant at the hotel, that by itself deserves it's own post!
The food is spectacular!!! If you're going for an overnight stay or just a day trip make sure you make a reservation for
The Shipwright's Daughter!
